Sky News will provide live coverage and analysis as the Albanese Labor Government hands down its first Federal Budget tomorrow, five months after forming government.
The government is facing major economic challenges – rising interest rates and inflation, rising cost of living and budget blowouts in health, aged care, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), as well as the increasing interest bill on the country’s record debt.
The government also must handle the expectation that it will implement its high spending election promises.
Sky News Budget 2022 coverage will examine all those issues beginning at 4:30pm with Business Now hosted by Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood. Ross will be joined by leading economists to discuss the potential market and economic impact of the Federal Budget.
At 5:00pm, The Kenny Report with Chris Kenny will review the latest breaking news stories set to affect the Budget outcome.
Then at 6:00pm, a 90-minute special edition of Credlin, with Peta Credlin’s unique insight, and a line-up of leading economic experts and political commentators looking ahead to what Australia needs to hear from the Treasurer.
At 7:30pm, live from the House of Representatives, Treasurer Jim Chalmers will hand down the Albanese Government’s Budget 2022.
Following the speech, Chief News Anchor Kieran Gilbert will lead analysis from Parliament House live from 8:00pm with the Sky News team including Political Editor Andrew Clennell, Anchor and Political Reporter Laura Jayes, Business Editor Ross Greenwood and Sky News Anchors Paul Murray and Andrew Bolt.
Kieran and the Sky News team will be joined by Treasurer Jim Chalmers and Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor for immediate response. Also providing commentary and analysis Independent Senator Jacqui Lambie, Greens Senator Nick McKim, One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts and former Labor Cabinet Minister Stephen Conroy.
Then at 9:30pm, Paul Murray hosts a special 90-minute Budget edition of Paul Murray Live, joined by his panel of guests to dissect the impact of the Budget.
The analysis continues at 11:00pm with The Front Page as Jenna Clarke takes a first look at the next day’s national papers and their take on Budget 2022.

On Thursday October 27 at 7:30pm Sky News will broadcast live coverage as Opposition Leader Peter Dutton delivers the Coalition’s Official Budget Reply.
