TV Blackbox recently revealed casting had commenced on new adventure travel competition series Globetrotters, and now we can confirm the series has been commissioned by Channel 9.
The new series, Globetrotters is searching for teams of two willing to “pack their bags for the overseas adventure of a liftetime”
Globetrotters, is an original concept developed locally by Endemol Shine Australia, and is promising a “huge cash prize” for the winning team with the series featuring travel to “destinations you have only ever dreamed of?”
The commissioning of the new series comes at the same time as Channel 9 is also producing another new travel adventure program titled The Summit which will be filmed in New Zealand and is also being produced by Endemol Shine Australia.
The Summit will see strangers set out with backpacks containing an equal share of one million dollars. They must reach the peak of a distant mountain in 14 days to win the massive amount of cash.
Along the journey they’ll need to work as a team as they tackle dangerous terrain, wild weather conditions, and overcome adrenaline-charged challenges that block their path to the mountain peak – the holy grail.
The commissioning of the two travel competitions by Channel 9 comes as Channel 10 is yet to confirm the future of The Amazing Race Australia which recently finished airing with soft ratings.
Filming for Globetrotters will take place across six weeks commencing January 30, 2023.

My husband & I applied to participate in Globetrotters but have not heard back after submitting our extensive applications. Any chance we could get some acknowledgment of receipt. We were away overseas from November 4th to 21st so we hope we did not miss out on anything. Regards Liz & Terry O’Sullivan
