The decision to pre-record some news segments from Sydney into the Brisbane market has led to technical issues when going to air.

10 News First mistakenly aired a blooper into the Brisbane market last night (Tuesday, September 27th), due to pre-recording the segment in Sydney well before it went to air.

It all seemed normal when a commercial break came to an end, and presenter Sandra Sully began reading a story about urgent evacuation orders in Florida due to Hurricane Ian, to open the segment.

But Sully stumbled on her words halfway through the introduction, and after a brief pause, the screen cut to black.

The black screen stayed for 19 seconds, before two more commercials began to roll.

Immediately thereafter, a brief black screen was displayed again.

10 News First began again, and the same footage of Sully’s blooper started playing… until she was cut off halfway through by another black screen.

Then, bizarrely, footage of Sully started spooling in fast forward and reverse before it then went to yet another commercial break.

The full, unedited clip of what went to air in Brisbane last night can be watched below.

Back in 2020, TV Blackbox exclusively reported the network’s decision to pre-record some news segments before they actually air in several markets across Australia.

That decision came after Network 10 announced major cuts to its local news services, which included the redundancy of presenters in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

The 10 News First bulletin airs every night at 5pm.

  1. I really get annoyed when a new program is promoted over a thousand times about a month before it is to begin and it usually isn’t worth watching.

    • Agree…what a nightmare this station is especially their “slang” presented readings! and continued bad grammar.

  2. And there it is: another example of TV coming apart at the seems.
No one really cares, because no one’s really interested anymore.

  3. Can someone please stop Sandra Sulley from presenting the weather forecaster with a “SO”!…… not to mention her hideous slang ……. SERVO????

    • Go Cherryl, rip into them,Oz TV presenters are woeful at basic pronunciations, stories are told as though they are speaking to pre schoolers, and the arm waving of the On The Scene presenters, terrible TV.
