Arguably the greatest tennis player of all time, Roger Federer, will retire from competitive tennis after this weekend’s Laver Cup in London.

Roger Federer will sign off from professional tennis at the Laver Cup in London this weekend. The Swiss maestro announced his retirement from a glittering career last week but hopes his body will allow him one last hurrah for Team Europe.
The 2022 Laver Cup will feature two tennis icons leading both teams, with Björn Borg Team Europe’s captain and John McEnroe in charge of Team World.
The Europeans are gunning for a fifth straight victory and the stacked team alongside Federer includes Novak Djokovic (World No. 7, Serbia), Rafael Nadal (World No. 3, Spain), Stefanos Tsitsipas (World No. 6, Greece), Casper Ruud (World No. 2, Norway), Andy Murray (World No. 43, GBR) and reserve Matteo Berretini (World No. 15, Italy).
Team World, who will be aiming to win the Laver Cup for the first time ever, features Australian Alex de Minaur (World No. 22) and 2022 US Open semi finalist Frances Tiafoe (World No. 19, USA) joined by Felix Auger-Aliassime (World No. 13, Canada), Taylor Fritz (World No. 12, USA), Diego Schwartzman (World No. 17, Argentina) and Americans Jack Sock and Tommy Paul (reserve).
These quality lineups are certain to deliver epic tennis across the board as a fitting closing act for one of the game’s all-time greatest players.
