The day was turned on its head by the news that Olivia Newton-John had passed away.
A Current Affair (708,000) remains strong for Nine, yet it’s The Block (775,000) that maintains the number one position (even though it’s slipped on premiere, it is still way ahead in the slot). The premiere of season three of The Hundred with Andy Lee gets moved to next week as a repeat of MOVIE: Grease (442,000) slips in to pay tribute due to the passing of Olivia Newton-John…and draws a very respectable audience. Law & Order: Organized Crime (69,000) finishes out the night.
Nine first in both primary (25.8%) and network (33.6%) rankings.
Good news for Seven – Home & Away (536,000) jumps up over the 500k mark for the first time in weeks. MKR (450,000) even lifts on last night’s dismal figures however is stuck in third. Harry Palmer gets bumped as the expected part 1 re-run of Olivia Newton-John: Hopelessly Devoted (221,000) gets rolled out to honour her loss… and draws only partly reasonable figures.
Seven second in both primary (19.3%) and network (26%) rankings.
The Project (252,000 6:30pm; 373,000 7pm) hasn’t ticked up over 400k once this week – not a great sign for 10. The Masked Singer Australia (477,000 avg (449,000 show; 504,000 reveal)) offers some continued respite as it maintains second in primetime. The Cheap Seats (387,000) lifts on last week’s numbers, while a double repeat of NCIS (142,000; 82,000) doesn’t do much.
10 third in both primary (11.9%) and network (17.6%) rankings.
7:30 (457,000) and Great Southern Landscapes (337,000) could only manage fourth for the ABC in primetime. The rest of the evening was largely undersubscribed too, with Catalyst: The Science of Relationships (276,000), Art Works (115,000), a repeat of Anh’s Brush With Fame (79,000), 8 Nights Out West (35,000), and a repeat of Four Corners (DNR) all doing smaller than expected numbers.
ABC fourth in both primary (9.8%) and network (14.5%) rankings.
SBS deliver the finale of Who Do You Think You Are? Australia (232,000), followed by reasonable runs from Insight (184,000) and Dateline (93,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (5.1%) and network (8.3%) rankings.
