What a primetime battle this turned out to be.
A Current Affair (714,000) launches big for Nine, and for the first time in a while it’s not Nine’s best. That is reserved for the second ep this season of The Block (835,000) which barely slipped from night one and clearly owns primetime. Emergency (390,000) performs reasonably after, and then the night then splits based on code to either 100% Footy (39,000) or Footy Classified (120,000). Everyone returns with a new ep of Manifest (39,000).
Nine first in primary (21.8%) and second in network (28.9%) rankings.
Home & Away (451,000) returns as Seven’s best for the night(!)…as MKR (408,000) slides 100k on premiere and into fourth place in primetime. The final night of Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games (399,000 Night; 296,000 Late) adds some viewers after a massive 10-day run.
Seven second in primary (21.4%) and first in network (32.3%) rankings.
10 continue to struggle with The Project (231,000 6:30pm; 391,000 7pm), yet The Masked Singer Australia (530,000 avg (455,000 show; 605,000 reveal)) is solidifying itself as a decent second place in primetime. Have You Been Paying Attention? (569,000) slides back into the winning position following even though it’s down on the past few weeks. Just For Laughs Australia (178,000) and a repeat of Lawrence Mooney: Like Literally (67,000) send comedy fans to bed with a laugh or two.
10 third in both primary (13.6%) and network (18.6%) rankings.
The 7:30 (477,000)/Back Roads (485,000) slide into third place in primetime as a good start for the ABC. Four Corners (356,000) and Media Watch (363,000) are both down on last week though in their regular ball park (which has shrunk). China Tonight (139,000), 8 Nights Out West (36,000) and a repeat of Q+A (24,000) fill out the evening.
ABC fourth in both primary (11%) and network (14.6%) rankings.
SBS lead with Saving Lives at Sea (72,000), build to The Queen’s Guard: A Year In Service (78,000), then slip a little with a repeat of 24 Hours in Emergency (72,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (2.8%) and network (5.6%) rankings.
