This week in the season finale of The ABC Of, our host David Wenham meets John Howard, the former Prime Minister and most successful Australian politician of the last 50 years.
John Howard is still a force to be reckoned with at the age of 82.
The ABC Of research team found footage of him supporting MP Tom Hughes during the 1966 Federal Election in Sydney’s Campsie, as well as footage of his first day in office in 1974 and a lively This Day Tonight profile from 1978.
In this casual and open discussion, Mr. Howard reflects on the highs and lows of his political career.
He discusses the hard route to becoming Prime Minister, Port Arthur, Bali, East Timor, tax reform, and his famous morning walk, as well as what it’s like to be an Ex-PM and what he does in retirement – you’ll be amazed by what he watches on YouTube.
