As fans prepare to say goodbye to Neighbours for the final time, one Melbourne camera operator has provided us with a unique behind-the-scenes look at the production studios where the classic soap was produced.
Mitch Blunt from Arbee Aerials recently attended the Nunawading studios to record drone footage of all the Neighbours internal and external sets and studio facilities.
The footage provides an insight into just how big a production Neighbours has been over the past 37 years and how many production staff will be affected by its cancellation.
Speaking to TV Blackbox, Mitch stated.
“Growing up in Australia in the 90’s, and more recently working in the Television industry, the news of the Neighbours cancellation is devastating.
Not only for the fact that it will no longer be on our screens, but also for the fact that it has been an integral part of the local TV industry in Melbourne.”
It’ll be sad to see it go, as it was a part of our lives growing up, as I believe it was bigger abroad than at home, as sometimes the case.
