The first parts of the finale mean the end of this crop is in sight.
A Current Affair (730,000) takes a big lead off the News to build Nine’s night, as the Australian Ninja Warrior grand finale (535,000 avg (560,000 finale; 510,000 winner)) did reasonably but not as big as it has been this season. The pick up ep of Million Dollar Murders (235,000) drew and OK later audience, which then split into 100% Footy (DNR,000) or Footy Classified (97,000).
Nine first in both primary (21.8%) and network (29.7%) rankings.
The Project (264,000 6:30pm; 428,000 7pm) sees a sizeable lift on Sunday’s numbers, bouncing into MasterChef Australia grand finale part 1 (693,000) which takes primetime with ease, followed by its partner Have You Been Paying Attention? (630,000) delivering one of its best audiences all season. The Montreal Comedy Festival (174,000) and a repeat of Jimeoin: Ramble On (70,000) fill out the evening.
10 second in both primary (18.2%) and network (23.5%) rankings.
Seven’s best again was Home & Away (445,000), down slightly on last week, as Big Brother Australia (329,000) picks up ahead of the finale tonight. A double ep of 9-1-1: Lone Star (167,000; 140,000) offers fans some service, as then The Blacklist (49,000) runs into the late night.
Seven third in both primary (15.4%) and network (21.9%) rankings.
7:30 (555,000) and Back Roads (514,000) slide the ABC into third in primetime, with both Four Corners (464,000) and Media Watch (401,000) down on last week. A special Neighbours: End of the Road (202,000) celebrates the impending doom of Ramsay Street, and a repeat of Q+A (45,000) adds some much-needed eyeballs to last week’s pitiful numbers.
ABC fourth in both primary (13.1%) and network (17.4%) rankings.
SBS’s night sees a rest for the tour, instead delivering Saving Lives at Sea (115,000), The Queen’s Guard: A Year in Service (123,000), and a repeat of 24 Hours in Emergency (120,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (4.5%) and network (7.6%) rankings.
