All the big stories from America, as the nation gears up for the mid-term elections in November
With the most significant mid-term elections in recent U.S. history just five months away, Sky News Australia will bring viewers all the breaking news from America in a new international affairs program, The U.S. Report, hosted by American policy expert and leading political journalist and broadcaster, James Morrow.
Every Friday, the Sky News host and federal political editor of The Daily Telegraph, will unpack all the stateside news, examine what it means, and how the events will affect Australia, from our economy to national security.
Each episode will bring analysis and interviews with on the ground experts and politicians including insights from the former presidential chief-of-staff to Donald Trump, Mick Mulvaney. Plus, James promises to bring a dose of fun along the way.
James Morrow said:
“We’re going to take viewers on a deep dive into what’s really happening, not just in Washington, but in the heartland of America where the outcome will be determined.
We’re also going to go straight to the candidates and newsmakers to hear what they say, and of course the voters themselves.
“All eyes are going to be on this election – not just in Australia, but in Moscow and Beijing as well. If Americans deliver a strong rebuke to the Democrats, it will point to a changing of the guard in 2024 and a new direction for the economy and foreign policy.”
James joined Sky News in 2019 as co-host of Outsiders, Sky News Australia’s top-rating Sunday morning discussion program. James also provides political insights across the network’s news and national affairs programs.
James has covered U.S. politics and political campaigns for decades, including reporting on the Clinton White House for the U.S. News & World Report.
James also travelled to the U.S. at the height of the pandemic to cover the historic 2020 presidential election for Sky News Australia and The Daily Telegraph.
