BROADCAST GUIDE | Tampa Bay Lightning face the Colorado Avalanche in the 2022 STANLEY CUP FINALS on ESPN

The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Colorado Avalanche will face off in the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals to crown the National Hockey League champions, with every game from the potential seven games series LIVE on ESPN.

The 2022 Stanley Cup Finals begin on Thursday June 16, LIVE on ESPN at 10am AEST.

Tampa Bay are looking to continue building its dynasty, having won the last two championships and will chase a stunning three-peat against the Colorado Avalanche.

The Lightning would become the first team to win three straight Stanley Cup finals since the New York Islanders – who won four straight between 1980-1983.

Colorado last won the Stanley Cup Final in 2001 – more than 20 years ago.

Tampa Bay defeated the New York Rangers in six games to claim the Eastern Conference Final, and set-up another shot at an NHL crown.

Meanwhile, the Avalanche completed an impressive four game sweep of the Edmonton Oilers to take the Western Conference Final.

The Avalanche have enjoyed a nine-day break between series, and will be fresh, following the ease at which they became Conference champions.

Colorado enjoyed a similar break following the first round of the NHL playoffs, having also swept the Nashville Predators.

The Avalanche will also take into the Stanley Cup Finals a strong head-to-head record against the Tampa Bay Lightning, having won both games played against them during the regular season.

Forward Nathan MacKinnon is Colorado’s star, leading the Avalanche with 11 goals in 14 playoff games.

He is well matched though by the Lightning’s Nikita Kucherov, who himself leads with 23 points from 17 playoff games, and is enjoying a three-goal three-assist streak, during a five game stretch.
