Could you disappear without a trace?

Arriving soon on Channel 10, the radical social experiment Hunted Australia will take viewers on an intense, edge-of-the-seat journey where ordinary Australians go on the run, attempting to avoid a crack team of expert hunters.

Hunted Australia follows nine pairs of ordinary Australians who become fugitives in this unique new series.

With limited funds and resources, they will have to think of ingenious ways to survive and remain undetected for 21 days.

Hunting them down are some of the world’s best investigators selected from the Australian Federal Police, Australian Defence Force, British Intelligence, skilled cyber analysts, special ops and private security, using their expertise and replicated powers of state.

Filmed entirely in Melbourne and greater regional Victoria, our cunning fugitives will need to be at the top of their game to evade capture from the ground hunters and the Hunted HQ team.

The fugitives will not be allowed any money to assist them and are unable to enlist the help of others during their desperate flight. To evade their pursuers, they’ll need to become invisible.

But when every move you make can leave a trace, hiding in plain sight will be far from simple.

Daniel Monaghan, Senior Vice President, Content and Programming, ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand, said:

“Hunted is a gripping reality series that has been a huge success in the UK, and we are thrilled to bring it to Australia for our own local version.

“Our Aussie fugitives will need physical strength, mental toughness, and the gift of the gab to conquer this game – we can’t wait to watch them in action.”

Endemol Shine Australia CEO, Peter Newman, added:

“Hunted Australia is a blockbuster reality-thriller that asks… could you evade capture when hunted day and night by a team of Australia’s elite investigators?

“When Hunted Australia explodes onto our screens in 2022 with its unique fusion of real-world investigative techniques and cutting-edge storytelling, Aussies will be glued to every twist and turn of an unrelenting and unmissable game of cat and mouse.”

Where will they hide? Who can they trust? What will they do to win? When the clock is ticking, only time will tell.

Hunted Australia is an Endemol Shine Australia production for Network 10.

  1. This is a direct lifting from the Stephen King short story The Running Man. Not the warped movie staring Arjnie, but the original short story.

    • Yes, I immediately thought that too. Unfortunately the Arnie movie was so far removed from the original story that they really only shared the same title.

    • The book was brilliant! I’ve read it 3 times. Pity they can’t redo that Arnie movie more in line with the Richard Bachman novel (Stephen King).

  2. 10’s Hunted sucks. Even the kids equivalent “Hide & Seek” the players are given a chance as the searcher closes their eyes and counts 100 give them time to get away.
On Hunted they watch them take off and the have surveillance and dogs and cops laying in wait. There’s no Hunting just apprehending.
They should reduce the number of runners and give them 2 hours to disappear before we Hunting them.

  3. It the same old case this day and age its *the look at me look at me*i young and i want to be famous these constant cooking shows, Big Brother F”N are you kidding me go get a “FN” life you bunch of looser”s I need to get back to real life doco’s on foxtel free to air its mostly crap!!!!

  4. I’m sick and f+*king tired of hearing the song on this ad. Why does the 10 network think its necessary to play the same ad over and over and over again? It happens all the time with every crap reality show. I’m a celebrity show sucked, and I’m sure there’s going to be continuous ads for the masked singer. Reality TV had officially died in 2007 so stop beating a dead horse.
