Golden State and Boston are the final two teams remaining to contest the NBA Finals, following a thrilling NBA season.
Game One of the NBA Finals begins Friday June 3 at 11am AEST LIVE on ESPN.
The Warriors secured their shot at the NBA Championship after a comfortable 4-1 series win against the Dallas Mavericks to clinch the Western Conference Title.
Golden State were last crowned NBA champions in 2018, and have their fans speaking of a new dynasty, led once again by Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson.
But, similarly, the Celtics have had their own NBA championship reigns in years past, and 2022 could sweep in a new era in Boston.
The Celtics did not have it easy though on the path to the NBA Finals, playing a thrilling seven-game series against the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.
They must now respond from the thrilling and physically demanding series, with a similar level of intensity expected from the Warriors.
2008 was the last time Boston were crowned NBA champions. The Celtics will be up against it to repeat those heroics with the first two games on the road in California – where Golden State are currently 9-0 at home in the playoffs.
No team has ever won more than 10 home playoffs games without defeat – giving the chance for the Warriors to create history and go past iconic NBA sides like the 1996 Chicago Bulls, 1987 Lakers, 1986 Celtics and 1977 Blazers.
It sets the stage for a thrilling NBA Finals series, between two iconic franchises looking to taste NBA Championship glory once again.
ESPN will have full replays and dedicated NBA Mini’s available on demand, so that NBA fans can consume all the NBA Finals action in their own style.
Every game from the best of seven series will be live on ESPN Australia New Zealand.
