A detective investigates the murder of her daughter who had been missing for 20 years.

Paula Malcomson (The Hunger Games trilogy, Ray Donovan, Deadwood) stars as DI Colette Cunningham, a fearless, plain-speaking, dedicated detective on Liverpool’s Serious Crime Squad.

She is an unflappable force of nature until she takes an unexpected call from Dublin. A body has been found and Colette is listed as next of kin. She takes the ferry to Dublin to identify her daughter, Kate, who disappeared 20 years ago.

Consumed by grief, Colette resolves to stay in Ireland to work for the Garda, while also piecing together the truth about Kate’s death. If she did fail her daughter in life, Colette is determined to do right by her now – but is she prepared for what she finds?

Written by Sean Cook (Spooks). Also starring Sean Duggan (Blood, Dublin Murders) and Moe Dunford (Vikings, Patrick’s Day).

Redemption premieres on BritBox Thursday 26th May 2022.

  1. Quite compelling. Was wondering: what is the name of the song playing during the final moments of episode 6 and who is singing it.

    Thanks

    • Really enjoyed the series. Was wondering about that lovely song, as well. Wouldn’t Shazam…

  2. Absolutely terrific new series! A perfect blend of story, character and suspense with just the right amount of complexity and suspense.

  3. We love Redemption and are hoping there will be a season two. This series is compelling, fresh and well acted. This is exactly what we were looking for when we signed up with Britbox. We have become very disappointed with so much of the programming we routinely get on our network tv. Please keep it coming.

  4. Loved the new series, Redemption, on Britbox. Hoping for a 2nd season and look forward to more like this with mystery, getting to know the characters with wonderful action and acting,

  5. Why are there no replies to these questions? Am I doing something wrong? I too would like to know the final song, & how I can purchase it, & I’d also like to know if there will be a season 2 (I hope), as the acting is brilliant, even the children/teens (which can be difficult), I could watch the lead forever… the story is new, refreshing, & pulls you right into the emotional world of all these characters, and I am interested in the life & background of every character in the ensemble!! That’s a rare quality, a true feat of writing, casting, directing, & cinematography (I’ve named the first four elements that are hard enough to mesh so perfectly, alone, but I can go on to include the costumes, set direction, location scouts, camera work, best boys, boom boys, continuity, etc…) all come together – a truly unique opportunity and a rare treat for the viewers! So please come back w/a second season. And please, please… I’ve found that the song may be called “Over”, sung by someone (I forgot already how to spell her first name) Reddy, but I can’t find it on iTunes (the most logical place to look in the US, & easiest to then purchase). I found the singer’s Facebook page, & another page w/an album of hers, but the song isn’t on it, & it’s not on iTunes either. Spotify, I think? Which is yet another platform that costs yet more money:)
    Anyway, cheers!

  6. Adored Paula Malcomson as Trixie in Deadwood. She nailed it as that lady of the evening in the Dakota’s and she’s nailed it again in this series. Fabulous writing: kept me watching the whole 6 episodes in one sitting. Please, please, let there be a second season!
