Just when you thought Clive Palmer could not possibly inject any more United Australia advertising into our lives, get ready because this week will see a total TV takeover.

In an unprecedented move, Clive Palmer has negotiated has a deal with Australia’s three commercial FTA broadcasters to secure the right to broadcast a 1-hour commercial promoting his political party in the lead up to election day.

The 1-hour advertisement, which is being labelled as a campaign launch event featuring Palmer alongside party leader Craig Kelly is set to be broadcast today (Saturday, May 14) at 2pm on Channel 9’s main broadcast channel.

But don’t stress if you miss this enthralling event because TV Blackbox understands Palmer has splashed out more dollars to lock in a repeat broadcast on 7Flix this Tuesday night, May 17 at 9pm. This will be followed by a third broadcast on Channel 10’s main channel on Wednesday May 18 at 9:45pm.

Just how much Clive Palmer is spending to secure the broadcast of a 60-minute commercial on Australia’s three FTA networks is unclear however respected media analyst Steve Allen from Pearman Media has indicated the networks would likely value the airtime in $400k$600k value range.

TV Blackbox understands networks were initially resistant to the idea of interrupting their entertainment schedules for the political message, however it’s believed the 1-hour programming block was purchased as part of a broader advertising investment with each network.

The UAP leader has previously boasted he was willing to invest over $70 million into advertising across the campaign.

This despite his failure to secure a single seat at the previous Federal Election.

  1. Well, I guess I’m done then. I admit, I don’t watch free-to-air commercial TV very often, but now I never will again. I was enjoying the current season of MasterChef, but I don’t care enough to keep watching with Palmer sponsoring programming. Byeeeeeeee!!!

  2. Coming in 2026. “Australia’s Next Prime Minister!” 12 candidates from all across the land battle it out for your vote. Each week they speak on a range of policies and issues with one voted out of the competition each week until one remains and becomes the new P.M. But look out if a politician goes off topic or starts to bad mouth a rival candidate, they get a strike. Two strikes and they are eliminated from the competition.

  3. Labor or liberals same s**t, with 2 party system there will not be no change and the history tells. There is no democracy in Australia and people must wake up, no outsider can disturb power of those corrupted politicians.

    • Put the majors last! Time for a change. Libs and Lab have had enough time to mess up the country. I’ve got politicians telling me there is a land shortage – meanwhile the country is barren, people wanting green vehicles (yet our energy is from coal/gas). Figure out how to irrigate some barren land which they have done in other parts of the world and get nuclear power already. Australia the only first world country without nuclear power… Guess that makes us third world

      • Nuclear energy is prohibitively expensive, and electric motors have better performance than internal combustion engines.

  4. When his big yellow newspaper ads appear i turn the page over at breakneck speed. It will be the same on tv. Reach for the remote control and vive netflix, stan etc.. .

  5. I would like to ask if Clive and the AUSTRALIA PARTY would support a ROYAL COMMISSION INTO THE PUBLIC TRUSTEES to stop the cruel over charging of the aged ,and disabled.

  6. well its about time we see more choices to vote for im sick and tired of our tv and news only talking about the Maine party’s ,i watched it yesterday and all i have to say is that’s what i have always wanted to hear craig kelly delivered his speech and i was exited with joy of what he said he will do i pray to god they win ,here’s some of the policy’s he wants to do ,pensioners get $180 extra ,abolish hex fees for students ,fix our super ,make housing affordable for us all ,slash tax ,slash cost of energy power

    • A vote for Clive is a vote for the Libs, just like last time. Clive only wants more mins and to tuff his pockets. Just ask the nickel workers he never paid

  7. Please, non-thinking Queenslanders, understand that a vote for “Freedom” is really a vote for lower taxes for billionares, and effectively a vote for a pretty shonky mob to remain in government. See where Clive and Craig direct preferences in your electorate, and then vote for someone you reckon can genuinely change this nation into a country that cares about our kids education, our old people, and our environment.

  8. Good on him..who in their right minds would believe anything from libs..Labor or the greens ..they have done too much damage already these past 2 years..lies and deceit ..they have used taxpayers money to line their own pockets..destroyed business and people’s livelihoods.. so much more poverty because of these corupt major parties

  9. Um. Maybe that 70 million could have gone to his workers who lost their jobs when his company went bankrupt and he lost nothing.

  10. I wonder if he could have spent the money on paying the entitlements he hasn’t paid to his Townsville staff?

  11. There should be a cap on how much politician’s can spend on advertising. He should be paying the govt back when they bailed him out

  12. Well I am putting UAP last along with OneNation and the LNP best bunch of self serving billionaire slime! Just want to take your job and hand it to an overseas worker for 90% less $ while taxing you harder! Wake up your only real choice is LABOR or LNP

  13. Goes to show how important Clive thinks this election is. With the WHO trying to steal our sovereignty, and our pathetic federal government happy to comply he is probably correct.

You may think his cash splash is gross, but at least he is reaching into his own pocket and not yours like the majors do. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is!

  14. I’ll vote for him when he launched that Titanic replica of his…until then, he’s just your standard run of the mill BS artist.
