This hotly-anticipated new season will be the first since 2019, after COVID-19 delayed production.

Seth MacFarlane stars alongside Adrianne Palicki (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D), Penny Johnson Jerald (Castle), Scott Grimes (American Dad!), Peter Macon (Family Guy), J. Lee (American Dad!), Mark Jackson (The Royal Today), Chad L. Coleman (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Jessica Szohr (Shameless) and Anne Winters (13 Reasons Why). In preparation of the new season landing, Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on SBS On Demand now. The Orville: New Horizons will also air on SBS VICELAND 8.30pm Fridays, starting 3 June.

Also premiering next month is crime thriller DI Ray, created by Maya Sondhi (Line of Duty) and produced by Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio. Starring Parminder Nagra (The Blacklist) in the title role of Detective Inspector Rachita Ray, the story follows DI Ray as she is newly promoted and assigned to a homicide case that forces her to face a lifelong personal conflict.  Described by The Guardian as “a fresh twist on the police drama, full of tangled motivations and box-ticking bosses,” DI Ray will land on SBS On Demand from Thursday 9 June, with episodes dropping weekly and on SBS main channel, 8.30pm Thursdays.

Joining DI Ray is the gripping, dark Swedish drama series A Class Apart, with all eight episodes available to watch on Thursday 2 June. The series unspools within a secret society at one of Sweden’s top boarding schools. After a hazing ritual goes wrong and a new student  is found dead, a student from a nearby disadvantaged public school is accused of murder.

From the multi award-winning production company Wiedemann & Berg (The Lives of Others, Dark) comes the high concept, German political thriller The Blackout: Tomorrow Is Too Late. On a cold November day, electricity fails all over Europe. Blackout. While the government and authorities struggle with the effects and with clarification, a former hacker comes into the focus of the investigators. The full season will drop on Thursday 9 June.

16 June will see the premiere of Spanish thriller You Shall Not Lie. When a video of a high school teacher having sex with one of her students goes viral, the lives of all those involved are thrown into chaos. This Spanish drama tracks the life of Macarena, a highly respected teacher living in the upmarket coastal town of Belmonte who finds herself despised and ostracised by her community after the video is exposed. As the campaign against her builds, Macarena is forced to live with her estranged father as she attempts to uncover the truth – a task made considerably more difficult when a body turns up at the bottom of the cliffs, leading her to becoming the prime suspect.

And to round off the June highlights is French contemporary drama The Runaway, dropping in full on Thursday 30 June. 16-year-old Lea lives in a nice, suburban home East of Paris with her parents and younger siblings. She’s a self-assured teen who does well in school and loves to dance. But when her overly strict parents try to curb her social life, Lea runs away from home. She winds up in the wrong place at the wrong time, getting tangled up with a shady rap duo.
