It’s a very different story from 6pm-7pm than it is from 7pm-midnight…
Seven’s News was massive – what a shame for them it didn’t translate into primetime and beyond. Home & Away (531,000) ticks up a little and lands as Seven’s best(!), which is a big call given the premiere of Big Brother Australia (487,000)…which landed commercially third, and fourth overall in the slot, and also 26% down on last year’s season premiere. A repeat of MOVIE: Charlie’s Angels (141,000) reminds a few of a simpler time.
Seven first in both primary (19.8%) and network (28%) rankings.
A Current Affair (705,000) starts the night for Nine as the biggest thing after any commercial News(!), however it is Lego Masters Australia (566,000) that has the most puzzling result as the best in commercial primetime but still low. Next to nobody cares about Australia Behind Bars (186,000), and then we split based on footy code: 100% Footy (45,000 BNE/SYD) or Footy Classified (147,000 MEL/ADL/PER).
Nine second in both primary (18.7%) and network (26.9%) rankings.
ABC lands a big body blow with the 7:30 (584,000)/Australian Story (625,000) double beating out all the commercial primetime reality shows (including Seven’s premiere). Even Four Corners (524,000) and Media Watch (453,000) took the win later in the night. Repeats of My Story (174,000) and Q+A (35,000) fill out the late evening.
ABC fourth in both primary (14.5%) and network (19.2%) rankings.
The Project (233,000 6:30pm; 391,000 7pm) does very little, not even breaking 400k for the second half hour. MasterChef Australia (532,000) is up significantly, delivering its second biggest audience of this series, and commercially second in primetime. A new and two repeat eps of FBI: Most Wanted (243,000; 175,000; 127,000) marks time.
10 third in both primary (11.8%) and network (18%) rankings.
SBS’s Monday unusually slow, starting with Saving Lives at Sea (110,000), and then a new & repeat ep of 24 Hours in Emergency (140,000; 126,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (4.5%) and network (7.9%) rankings.

BB tanked and as it should. Roping people in with nostalgia and not learning from the mistakes of the 7 reworked format has slammed them in the face .
People wanted to see these people in a similarity to the old format, not this crap. They need a new EP that isn’t a survivor EP.
Big brother is dead and Seven has nailed the coffin. RIP.
Bring it back live or let it die.
