This is the story of a brother, a sister and a gun. Quiet Sam’s life is transformed when he is entrusted to look after a gun.
The weapon empowers Sam and he breaks the law. Unfortunately for Sam (Jacob Ifan, A Discovery Of Witches), his ambitious policewoman sister Gina (Catrin Stewart, Doctor Who, Misfits) is paid to uphold it.
The story begins with the discovery of the body of a local businessman in the town’s marina. The investigation into Stevie Rose’s death unearths a mystery involving a ruthless widow, stolen cars, a notorious moneylender, and a people trafficking ring.
While Gina and her colleagues investigate Stevie’s murder, pressures in Sam’s personal life drive him to shoot the gun. By using the weapon Sam becomes unwittingly connected to the police’s investigation and he finds himself being hunted by the police.
Ambitious Gina goes above and beyond the call of duty to solve Stevie’s murder. She soon unearths information about her own father’s murder when she and Sam were children.
The discovery that her father might not have been a victim of mistaken identity blurs the personal and professional for Gina and she starts to investigate her father’s criminal past with a view to putting personal demons to rest.
