Sky News and The Advertiser will host a People’s Forum on Wednesday 16 March in Adelaide with South Australian Premier Steven Marshall and Opposition Leader Peter Malinauskas taking questions from undecided voters, three days out from the South Australian Election.

Hosted by Sky News Australia Chief News Anchor Kieran Gilbert, the one-hour forum will give 100 undecided voters as selected by Q&A Market Research the opportunity to voice their policy concerns to both leaders, in their final debate before polling day. At the conclusion of the forum the undecided voters will cast their vote for which leader they think performed better.

Kieran Gilbert, Sky News Australia Chief News Anchor said:

“Throughout the pandemic we’ve consistently seen incumbent governments re-elected in Australia. But with SA Labor ahead in the latest opinion polls – are we about to see that trend change?

“This SA Election is being keenly watched outside the state too – as it comes around two months before we all head to the ballot box for the federal election. The Sky News / The Advertiser People’s Forum is a crucial event in the closing stages of this campaign.”

Gemma Jones, The Advertiser, Editor said:

“This is an important election for South Australia, the state is emerging from the pandemic in better shape than most and the policies outlined by both leaders at the forum will be instrumental in voters’ minds when they cast their votes.”

Paul Whittaker, Sky News Australia Chief Executive Officer said:

“We’re pleased to be taking our forum to the people of South Australia which continues our tradition of hosting People’s Forums in all elections around the country, providing undecided voters with an opportunity to ask questions of the leaders in a live and unscripted format. A keenly anticipated debate, it will also be one of the last electoral tests for both major political parties before all Australians head to the polls to have their say in the upcoming federal election.”

Following the People’s Forum, Kieran Gilbert will join Peta Credlin during Credlin at 5:30pm ACDT / 6:00pm AEDT for a post-forum analysis as they examine the leaders’ responses to the issues and concerns raised by the people of Adelaide and announce the results from the forum.

On Saturday 19 March as South Australians head to the polls, Sky News will deliver comprehensive coverage and analysis of the South Australian Election 2022.

From 5:30pm ACDT / 6:00pm AEDT Kieran Gilbert will be live on Sky News with his election night panel of guests including Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell, Sky News commentators Peta Credlin, Chris Kenny and Graham Richardson, Social Services Minister Anne Ruston, Liberal MP Nicolle Flint and Labor Frontbencher Amanda Rishworth. Together they will share the triumphs and the defeats as the polls close and South Australia’s chosen government is declared.
