STAN releases trailer for Original AFL documentary series SHOW ME THE MONEY

Go inside the AFL’s multi-million dollar trade period in the brand new Stan Original documentary series.

Stan, Australia’s unrivalled home of original productions, today unveiled the trailer for the brand new Stan Original Documentary Series Show Me The Money.

The streamer also confirmed the three-part series will premiere on Thursday 10 March, only on Stan. Show Me The Money highlights Stan’s growing investment in locally produced original content and is the first of many sports documentary series to come.

Show Me The Money is a three-part sports documentary series that reveals the most fascinating flashpoint in the AFL – the behind the scenes wheeling and dealing of the game’s multi-million dollar superstars during the league’s blockbuster Trade Period and the collection of colourful characters that shape it: The Player Agents.

From JAM TV Australia, the team behind the popular Making Their Mark series, Show Me The Money will follow the intriguing affairs of the AFL’s most powerful agents as they negotiate on behalf of the game’s best players from some of the biggest clubs in the AFL. The series also follows the fortune of some of Australia’s best youngsters as clubs hope to recruit a future superstar in the AFL Draft. 

Never before have clubs, players and agents agreed to lift the veil on this mysterious aspect of Australia’s game, making for compelling viewing. For the first time, fans will have a front-row seat to the dramatic and sensational action, watching contract negotiations unfold for the AFL’s multi-million dollar stars. The storylines are raw, real, and wrapped in the emotional and financial tug-of-war between powerful player agents and club managers. Careers and lives get flipped on a phone call.

The series will feature four of the AFL’s most prominent player agencies: Connors Sports Management, Hemisphere Management Group, Players Ink and Corporate Sports Australia.

Starring are some of the AFL’s most ruthless and well-respected agents, including:

  • Paul Connors: Arguably the most influential in the game, with more than 100 of the AFL’s biggest names and up and comers. Connors started at the bottom and broke through with the Top Four selections in the 2001 Super Draft. Along with his business partner Robbie D’Orazio, the CSM team are among the game’s biggest dealmakers. Also featuring: Nick Gieschen and Nathan Freeman.
  • Alex McDonald: Smart, savvy and successful. McDonald was a No.1 draft pick in 1988 and went on to a successful career at Hawthorn and Collingwood. Alex now heads Hemisphere with more than 30-years’ experience and is regarded as one of the big players in the industry. Also featuring: David Trotter, Annabel Burge, Tom Seccull and Julian Petracca.
  • Ben Williams: Has single-handedly established Players Ink as one of the new forces in the game. A former Big Brother winner, Ben runs the business and heads up the AFL division; his wife Jade Robran takes care of clients’ media and welfare needs. A star-studded stable that includes the number one pick in the 2021 AFL Draft, Jason Horne-Francis.
  • Colin Young: One of the driving forces and leaders of CSA and sports management in Western Australia and always in the thick of the action. Young is regarded as one of the straightest shooters in the AFL jungle, with a reputation for keeping the football industry on its toes. Also featuring: Andrew McDougall.
