2022 gets underway for UFC 270 travelling to California for its first event of the year.
Headlining the card, current champion Francis Ngannou will make his first title defence when he takes on unbeaten interim belt holder Cyril Gane for the UFC Heavyweight Championship title unification bout. In the Co-main event, Flyweight champion Brandon Moreno welcomes Deiveson Figueiredo for the third chapter of their exciting rivalry in a Flyweight title bout.
Ngannou is currently riding a five-win streak, “The Predator” claimed the title by knockout in the second round against former champion Stipe Miocic last March. Undefeated Gane lifted the interim belt last August when he defeated Derrick Lewis by TKO in Round 3. The pair will now square off in a five-round test to determine who the unified Heavyweight champion is.

Moreno will defend his flyweight title for a third time against former champion and 125-pound king Figueiredo. The pairing first met at UFC 256 in December 2020 going a full five-round distance ending in a majority draw with then champion Figueiredo retaining the belt. Moreno then captured the title taking the win by submission in the third round in the rematch at UFC 263 last June.
