You can win $25,000 in 60 seconds with TikTok and the Screen Producers Australia partnering again.
Screen Producers Australia (SPA) and TikTok are excited to announce that ‘Got a Minute?’ is back and bigger than ever – and this year there is a massive AU$25,000 prize up for grabs. A fun and fast start to the second day of SCREEN FOREVER (28 March – 30 March), ‘Got a Minute?’ helps the next generation of Aussie storytellers share their unique voices and stories with the world, and highlights the power and potential of short-form content.
The competition is once again open to the whole industry, with entrants simply needing to upload the pilot for their 10 x 1 minute series to TikTok using #screenforever and #gotaminute2022, and fill out the accompanying submission form found in the T&Cs here.
Three talented finalists will be flown to the Gold Coast to pitch their concept live to a panel of industry heavyweights including Lee Naimo (Senior Investment Manager, Screen Australia) and Felicity McVay (Director of Content Partnerships, TikTok).
The winning pitch will be awarded a staggering AU$25,000 production investment to help with the development of the series. In addition, the winner will be granted 1:1 development meetings with Screen Australia to help bolster their network and industry knowledge.
Each finalist will receive:
- a SCREEN FOREVER Gold Coast pass;
- flights, accommodation and per diem to attend SCREEN FOREVER;
- an invitation to join the TikTok ‘Rising Star’ managed creator program;
- a TikTok partner manager mentorship;
- features on TikTok ANZ’s social media pages; and
- TikTok merchandise.
SPA CEO Matthew Deaner said:
“It’s fantastic to once again be working with TikTok to celebrate Aussie ingenuity. Short form social content allows producers to experiment with their storytelling techniques while receiving immediate feedback from a potentially massive global audience. With almost 100 entries to the inaugural competition spanning everything from comedy to horror, documentary, and animation, ‘Got a Minute?’ has already proven that great stories can be told in just 60 seconds, and I can’t wait to watch this year’s action unfold at the Gold Coast in just two short months.”
TikTok Director of Content Partnerships Felicity McVay said:
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Screen Producers Australia and Screen Australia once again, to help fund and nurture emerging local talent. The entrants in 2021 delivered such a rich and diverse body of work that put on full display the incredible creativity that Australian content creators have built a well-earned reputation for, and it was a thrill to be able to showcase that to the world via TikTok. I can’t wait to see what Australian creators will make for TikTok this year, and shine a spotlight to short-form video content.”
Submissions for ‘Got a Minute?’ open on 1 February 2022 and close 25 February 2022. Finalists will be announced on 16 March 2022.
