The Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated series starring Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult and Australia’s own Belinda Bromilow returns for a third season, only on Stan.

Stan today announced that following a highly successful first two seasons, the Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated comedy-drama The Great has been renewed for a third season, only on Stan.

Led by Elle Fanning (Super 8) and Nicholas Hoult (Stan’s True History of the Kelly Gang), and written by Oscar-nominated Australian writer Tony McNamara, The Great season three will feature a 10-episode run.

Having been a huge success with critics and fans alike, the second season of the series sits on a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating.

Season two saw Catherine initially take the Russian throne for herself, but if she thought coup-ing her husband was difficult, it’s nothing compared to the realities of ‘liberating’ a country that doesn’t want to be. She battled her court, her team, even her own mother in a bid to bring the enlightenment to Russia.

Containing occasional historical accuracy – the third season will see the return of co-stars Phoebe FoxAdam GodleyGwilym LeeCharity Wakefield, Douglas HodgeSacha DhawanBayo Gbadamosi and Australia’s own Belinda Bromilow.

The Great will return exclusively to Stan. Announcement on the date to follow.

All episodes of The Great season one and two are now available to stream, only on Stan.
