With a slate of new programming coming our way this year, 10 has the one to watch!
As we head into a new year each Australian TV network has started pushing their new programming slates in sizzle promos which are being pushed ad-nauseum throughout the summer period.
Whether it’s MAFS or MKR there’s no doubt viewers will have a lot of choice, especially once the official ratings season begins in February.
But one of the shows I’m looking forward to most is Channel 10’s The Hunted Australia.
While there hasn’t been a lot of information released about the show yet, the concept is a real-life thriller that is sure to make for great TV.
The network describes it as ‘The most epic game of hide and seek‘ and when you see the promos it’s hard to disagree.
Here’s the official blurb:
Normally in reality TV the aim is to get as much screen time as possible, but Hunted Australia isn’t your average reality series.
Ordinary Aussies will take part in this radical social experiment as they attempt to avoid being captured and found by a team of expert hunters.
These ‘fugitives’ won’t be allowed to have money to help them or any outside help. Instead, they’ll have to try and get off the grid as fast as possible and remain as undetectable as possible.
But with a team of experts, armed with top-tier tech, can these fugitives outrun the pros and win themselves a massive prize?
Based on the UK series, Hunted Australia will arrive in 2022 and will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Sources tell me this show will air in the later part of the year and the lead investigator is set to become a star for his no-nonsense approach to getting results.
While still in pre-production all the elements are there to make this one of the best for 2022 – and I really hope they pull it off.
So, that’s my pick of the new crop for 2022, what’s yours? Let me know in the comments section.
Agreed. Really excited for Hunted, I’ve been binging some of the UK series and it’s awesome.
Also looking forward to new Ambulance Australia, Old People’s Home for Teenagers and The Amazing Race Australia.
Good for you, Rob. I really hope you love it.
As for me, anything that includes ‘radical social experiment’ in its precis leaves me partly anaesthetised.
Bamboo splints slowly inserted under the fingernails would seem preferable rather than being forced to sit watching this masterpiece analogous to the scene out of A Clockwork Orange.
