It will be a double header to remember this Sunday as Charles Oliveira takes on Dustin Poirier to defend his Lightweight title, and Amanda Nunes hopes to defeat Julianna Pena and secure her Bantamweight title.
UFC returns to Las Vegas for double-header title fights with Charles Oliveira defending his Lightweight title for the first time against former interim champion Dustin Poirier.
The co-main will see the return of dual champion Amanda Nunes who will put up her Bantamweight title against Julianna Pena.
After back-to-back stoppage wins over Conor McGregor, Poirier – the No.1 ranked – will get his second opportunity at the undisputed Lightweight title challenging Oliveira who secured the title with his second-round TKO win over Michael Chandler.
Nunes returns to the Octagon to defend her women’s Bantamweight title for the first time in near two years against Julianna Pena. Nunes has won 12 consecutive fights, including wins over every champion in history of the bantamweight and featherweight divisions.
The main card also includes a Flyweight debut of former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt as he takes on New Zealand’s Kai Kara-France, while Sean O’Malley and Raulian Paiva face off in a Bantamweight bout.
The event’s preliminary card starting from 12.00pm AEDT on ESPN will feature Australia’s own and Tai Tuivasa go head-to-head against top-10 ranked contender Augusto Sakai in a Heavyweight bout.
