ESPN expands its basketball coverage with ‘The Jump’, a new weekly program focusing on the NBA, NBL and everything hoops-related, airing Friday nights and featuring legend Andrew Gaze and journalist Nat Edwards.
The Jump is a show for the growing number of Aussie hoops fans – a show with big takes, big guests and big energy.
The Jump will deliver the most thoughtful and entertaining insight on the players, results and stories that matter most.
Headlined by Australian basketball icon Andrew Gaze, The Jump looks at the hot topics in the NBA through a local lens, covers the thriving NBL, and takes viewers beyond the stats.
The show will be hosted by journalist Nat Edwards, and also feature guests from ESPN’s US basketball coverage, plus also finds the time to have some fun.
The Jump leads into ESPN’s live Friday night coverage of the National Basketball League.
It will leverage ESPN’s extensive basketball rights that now include the National Basketball League and NBA and well as WNBA and NCAA – with more to come.
The Jump premieres Friday December 3 at 7pm AEDT on ESPN

Andrew Gaze
Andrew Gaze is Australian basketball’s much-loved and respected voice. A person who proudly wept when his beloved Boomers won bronze on national television, but never makes the story about him.
The five-time Olympian balances the fine line of strong opinions, tactical genius, yet makes the sport accessible to the widest audience possible.
Everyone knows Gazey, and everyone loves him.
The loveable larrikin won the National Basketball League scoring title a record 10 times, was league’s MVP on seven occasions and then when he hung his jersey up was awarded an AM for his contribution to sport in Australia.
His achievements are matched by his love of the game, his passion for Australian basketball to be recognised on the international stage, and his interest in the game around the globe.
Gaze can break the game down with the best of them, but always makes fun and entertainment a key part of any broadcast he’s involved with.
Nat Edwards
Nat is one of the nation’s rising stars of sports media – an overnight success years in the making.
The well-researched and thoughtful journalist began her professional career as a true all-rounder on Melbourne sports radio station SEN in 2006.
The self-confessed sports nerd covered a range of local and international sports on the network for nearly a decade, including hosting key magazine programmes live on air.
She was signed by AFL Media in 2014 but has continued to keep her passion for other sports on a variety of projects, including hosting Australian Open TV.
A calm head in the most chaotic of TV scenes, Nat is the ideal mix of down-to-earth host, hard-hitting journalist, and Friday night fun.
