With the second season only launching in August, the third is just around the corner for Paramount+ subscribers.

The Paramount+ Twitter account today announced the third season of Five Bedrooms was to drop on Viacom CBS and 10’s streaming service.

Unlike with the wait between Season 1 and Season 2, which spanned roughly two years, fans of Five Bedrooms will have to wait only a few months to watch new episodes after the second season released in August.

The third season will be released on January 1 (New Year’s Day), 2022, with all eight episodes releasing at once, much like the second season had done.

Co-creator and writer of Five Bedrooms, Michael Lucas, retweeted Paramount+’s announcement earlier this evening.

Filming commenced on the third season within a week of Season 2 launching on Paramount+, which was a launch-exclusive title for the streaming service when it debuted on August 11.

The life affirming, drama-comedy series tells the story of a group of very different people, from very different backgrounds, at very different stages of life, all living under the one roof.

There’s so much more to come for our flawed, disparate housemates; Liz (Kat Stewart), Ben (Stephen Peacocke), Heather (Doris Younane), Harry (Roy Joseph) and Ainsley (Katie Robertson).

About the third season, Younane said:

“I’ve been in the industry for 35 years and these are the best scripts I’ve read. There’s so much love in season three, so much heart, and the comedy comes from the drama; it’s beautifully positioned. For me, this is great love and I want it to never stop. I’d like to be in a nursing home still shooting Five Bedrooms.”

Five Bedrooms is produced by Hoodlum Entertainment for Paramount+. Developed and produced with support from Film Victoria, and assistance from Screen Australia.

Season 3 of Five Bedrooms releases on January 1, 2022.
