In yet another massive news year that has seen record-breaking lockdowns and border closures, Australians have flocked to the TODAY Show for trusted, up-to-the-minute news – and Karl and Ally have been with them every step of the way.
With Christmas just around the corner, our hosts Karl Stefanovic, Ally Langdon, Alex Cullen, Brooke Boney and Tim Davies will be taking a well-deserved break, returning to our screens in January 2022. A summer line-up will host TODAY from next week, with a mixture of our regular team and new faces.
As the team started 2021, there was a feeling of optimism that the bleakness of 2020 was behind us. But as the Delta COVID-19 strain hit the country, NSW and Victoria plunged into lockdowns. Fortress Australia enforced draconian border closures, a sluggish vaccine rollout finally gained pace and division in our communities increased, making the need for trusted news more important than ever.
The one thing that’s been a constant during 2021, however, has been waking up with Karl and Ally on TODAY – the only breakfast show to grow its audience year-on-year across the 5 City in Total People.

Karl’s a true professional when required as a serious journalist…but he and Ally also know how to lighten up morning television with fun ..
I only watch Today when they are hosting.
But … we’re all entitled to our opinion ..but life’s too short to make spiteful remarks ..

I agree. I only watch the today show when Karl and Ally are on. But I still don’t watch Sunrise either way. Just prefer Karl and Ally.
Totally agree, love Karl & Ally, have been watching Karl from his early days in CQ. They are true professionals & can lighten the mornings with their humour & friendship. Not too many people can face the camera & exude their fun sides day after day. 🥰

Ladies and Gentlemen Waking Up With Today with Karl, Ally, Alex, Brooke and Tim is the best morning TV show in Australia.I watch them every morning and all of them really blend well combine together so well and give us finest and top morning TV show.
Love Karl, Ally, Tim and Alex so much! Will miss them but they do deserve a break. They’re a great team. I do prefer Dickie for entertainment news though!
Hey I think the today show has been crossing the line for a little while . A lot of the comments from Karl is sexual and not good for my kids watching this . It’s great to try and stay young but your not Karl . Don’t try to be someone else . Cheers thanks for letting me give my option.

Hi , We love watching KARL & Ally and the rest of the crew especially Brooke I think Dickie is a bit outdated and dry ..We need presenters like Karl & Ally to be serious but also give humour when needed. Can’t stand the Sunrise crew or the ABC Labor station who present only their views on Labor and never report Liberals or other positive views…. Keep up the good work Nine over all. C J.
I’m on the fence I guess regarding the Today show , but dislike the alternative option on 7,
The show cast and producers are not generally favourable towards WA due to the negativity that is often projected towards WA I have noticed of recent that we have a ten minute segment around 7.20 or so I have also noticed that since the usual crew have taken a break the new lineup are more in favour of promoting WA and I’d add that overall it is a much better show, I don’t dislike Karl but I think it’s still pretty evident he is still part of the boys club. He does over step the line and can be quite self opinionated.

I love the watch today show and Karl’s other shows, he is a talented super star. Without him in the shows I don’t really like to watch
We are Team Karl & Alley in my house. My Daughter was devastated when Alley was off with her injured knee. The 9 Morning Show makes News interesting in my house. We won’t jump the fence to Sunrise.
Without Karl in Today Show & 60 mins I will not watching. Karl is a talented tv presenter and journalist. Although some people may be committed about his out looks, in actual fact tv presenters should maintain their appearance and good looks. Karl used to be a very handsome man (still now) but he just put on a bit of weight.
