The very best Spring Racing from Sydney and Brisbane this Saturday.

Thoroughbred racing’s stars of the future will strut their stuff on the Seven Network this Saturday as the $1 million Golden Gift for two-year-olds headlines the final day of the Everest Carnival at Rosehill Gardens, while fans will also enjoy a big day of live and free racing from Eagle Farm.

Stakes winners Dame Giselle and Sneaky Five won the first two editions of the Golden Gift, so Saturday’s third running of the 1100m feature could unearth another potential thoroughbred star. The Group 2 Hot Danish Stakes (1400m) for fillies and mares is among the other highlights at Rosehill Gardens.

Saturday’s coverage begins at 12.30pm AEDT on Channel 7, 7two and 7plus and will be led by Australia’s pre-eminent sport broadcaster Bruce McAvaney.

Racing’s #1 commentary team also includes Jason Richardson, Katelyn Mallyon and Emma Freedman, while Sky Racing’s Lizzie Jelfs and Group-winning jockey Tegan Harrison will be trackside at Rosehill Gardens and Eagle Farm respectively.

Kirkham Plate winner Ojai is among the top contenders in the Golden Gift along with Godolphin stablemate Contemporary. However, trainer Annabel Neasham is looking to continue her strong recent record with two-year-olds with her two runners, Nobel and Birdonawing, while Queen of The Ball will be bidding to give her owners their second Golden Gift victory following their success with inaugural winner Dame Giselle.

In the Hot Danish Stakes, master trainer Chris Waller has a strong hand with three runners, Nudge, Madam Rouge and Polly Grey, as he seeks his fourth victory in the race, but John O’Shea-trained mare Rocha Clock will be hard to beat after finishing second to Icebath in The Invitation. At Eagle Farm, fans can look forward to an action-packed day of thoroughbred racing as the countdown continues to the start of the celebrated Queensland Summer Racing Carnival next month.

Seven’s the home of racing this Saturday.
