An average 399,000 people nationally and 188,000 in the capital cities tuned in to Seven’s race coverage on Saturday night as Anton De Pasquale sped to an impressive win under the bright lights of prime time. Seven’s national audience more than doubled Foxtel’s coverage on Saturday night, and was up on this year’s live and free coverage of the Townsville 500 by 15% and the Darwin Triple Crown by 19%.

As Championship leader Shane van Gisbergen and De Pasquale split yesterday’s two Supercars sprint races, Seven recorded an average national audience of 292,000, which more than doubled Foxtel’s national audience, and 160,000 in the capital cities.

Seven’s national audience of 359,000 for yesterday’s second Supercars race was up on this year’s live and free coverage of the Townsville 500 race 16 by 8% and the Darwin Triple Crown race 13 by 48%.

Managing Director Seven Melbourne and Head of Network Sport, Lewis Martin, said:

“We’re always focused on growth at 7SPORT, so it’s very pleasing to see our Supercars audiences continue to grow. It adds to the strong sense of excitement that’s building as we look forward to Australian motorsport’s greatest and most thrilling event, the Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama, early next month.”

Today, on 7th GEAR, Seven’s unmissable new motorsport show, Chris Stubbs, Jack Perkins and Garth Tander will cover all the fall-out from the weekend’s racing at Sydney Motorsport Park at 4.30pm nationally on 7mate, 7plus and 7SPORT social platforms.

The other blockbuster Supercars events coming to Seven and 7plus in 2021 are:

  • Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight, Sydney Motorsport Park, 20-21 November
  • Repco Bathurst 1000, Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit, 3-5 December

  1. Of cause Ch 7 Supercar cocage would be over Foxsports, that because the majority of the population hasn’t got Foxtel. So they are forced to watch Ch 7 if they wanted to watch the Supercars. If people know how great Foxsport relay was, they would all be signing up to Foxtel of Kayo Sport.
I hate the way Supercars had to put the Top 10 shootout on hold while Ch 7 had to stop for their ridiculous amount of ads.
If all motoersport fans had Foxtel or Kayo, Ch7 would not have got anywhere near the ratings they did
