The final round of voting for the TV Blackbox awards has begun.

We are thrilled to announce the final nominees for the 2021 TV Blackbox Awards. These awards exist to fill the void left by the postponement of the LOGIES, which will return in 2022.

The livestream event on November 28 will announce the winners of each category as decided by the readers of TV Blackbox. November 28 was the date the LOGIES were originally meant to air.

The only category to be decided outside of public voting will be INDUSTRY WORKER OF THE YEAR. The winner of this category will be chosen by people within the television industry.

The nominees for that category are:

  • Brendan Donohoe (Nine News)
  • Paul Walker (Seven News)
  • Michelle Pike (Nine News)
  • Lauren Poole (Studio 10)
  • Graham Donald (Seven)
  • Bevan Lee (Back To The Rafters – Amazon Prime)
  • Lucy Addario (Series Producer, Home and Away – Seven)

We have also listened to your feedback and added an I DO NOT WISH TO VOTE IN THIS CATEGORY to each section so that you only have to vote for people and shows you know.

Our voting form randomly generates the order of the answers. We use this method to make the process as fair as possible.

Please cast your vote below and many thanks for taking part.

  1. Thanks guys for listening to feedback and incorporating the I DO NOT WISH TO VOTE IN THIS CATEGORY option. Still a rather motley collection though I guess we have to take a glass-half-full outlook on these moth-eaten rags, sorry, stellar TV offerings. How about another vote for streaming options? I would love that.
Still no entry for Landline? It could have a category all of its own – a guaranteed win!
I yearn for the day when some brave/reckless TV exec makes a bold decision and decides to TRY SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT AND OUTLANDISH. That does not include Andy Lee asking ‘controversial’ questions to a hundred people.
What has happened to Australian comedy? Chris Taylor offering the stick to the sick kid in hospital appeared to signal the death of truly adventurous and bold Oz comedy. Look what we have now. A bunch of supposed comedians who only touch on safe topics in fear of being pilloried by the online oh-so-pious pitchfork brigade.
Thank god for the re-runs of South Park on one of Ten’s secondary channels, Ten-Cumquat or whatever the name is.
