The Foxtel Group has confirmed it will provide free access to first round of the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament as part of its Kayo Freebies package.

The Foxtel Group holds Australian broadcast rights to the tournament which begins this week in the United Arab Emirates. The exclusive rights deal means Australian cricket fans will be unable to watch our national team compete in the tournament on free-to air television for the first time.

While the final of the T20 World Cup is included in the Federal Government Sport Anti- Siphoning list, its understood no Australian free-to-air broadcaster expressed interest in the competition, allowing Foxtel to lock in the exclusive rights deal.
