After Alan Jones wrapped up his show on Sky News, he threw over to Paul Murray Live, but Murray was nowhere to be found.
TV Blackbox understands an ambulance had to be called for Paul Murray, who was unable to present his Tuesday night Paul Murray Live show.
After airing a news update for 15 minutes into the program, Rita Panahi finally opened the show, replacing Paul.
She explained he was feeling under the weather, and would be back “very, very shortly.” Rita was originally slated as a guest in the program.
A Sky News Australia spokesperson told TV Blackbox:
“Paul started feeling unwell not long before the show was due to go to air, with Rita Panahi stepping in to host the program. He’ll be back after a couple of days of rest, but wanted to say thank you to all his viewers who were concerned.”
Paul Murray Live viewers flooded the show’s Facebook page with messages of concern and well wishes for the missing host.
It is unknown at this stage if Rita will continue to fill-in for Paul, or if another replacement will be instated while he is absent.
A spokesperson for Sky News Australia declined to confirm an ambulance attended the studio.
