The 2021 NRL Grand Final has marked the retirement of Nine’s most beloved football commentators, Peter Sterling.
Peter Sterling has been an important part of Nine’s live NRL coverage for the last 27 years. The popular presenter was also one of the original hosts on the Thursday night and Sunday morning NRL Footy Show programs.
Sterling used his final appearance on the network to tell the audience:

“It’s tough to leave, but the time is right and I’m looking forward to the future and you guys will be missed.”
Sterling’s long time friend and former Footy Show co-host Paul ‘Fatty’ Vautin paid tribute to the popular presenter during the networks coverage of the grand final.
