In an emotional Monday night episode of SAS Australia, Dan Ewing spoke candidly about the public breakdown of his marriage and the separation from his son that he describes as causing “unimaginable pain”.
Dan spoke about the pain of his son calling him ‘Daddy’ whilst also calling his son’s stepfather ‘Dad’.
This situation manifested in a visitation handover when his son’s mother was not available and the stepfather attended the drop off.
Dan described this situation as being an opportunity to confront the issue, but stated in the show that the way he went about it by berating the stepfather was not right and not characteristic of who he is.
The situation ended with a complaint being made to the police but no further action being taken.
Dan’s team have reached out to TV Blackbox to clarify the situation with these exclusive additional comments:
“Tonight’s episode was deeply personal and something I have not addressed publicly because in the end the complaint was proven false and subsequently dropped.
It was however, a really emotional time for me personally, especially when I heard my son was being reprimanded for not calling his stepfather ‘Dad’, but we’ve all since talked through it and are all in a really good positive place as a family”
The emotional rollercoaster continues on Tuesday evening in episode 8 with Jett Kenny speaking about his sister’s “demons” with mental health which ultimately cost her life.
