The stakes will be sky high this Saturday as the Spring Racing Carnival continues to heat up on the Seven Network with Golden Rose Day at Rosehill Gardens and Underwood Stakes Day at Ladbrokes Park.

Saturday’s live and free thoroughbred racing will be headlined by two highly coveted Group 1 races, the Golden Rose (1400m) and Underwood Stakes (1800m), which each boast $1 million in total prizemoney.

Seven’s coverage begins at 12.00pm AEST on 7two and 7plus and will again be led by racing’s #1 commentary team, which this week features Jason Richardson, Katelyn Mallyon, Henry Dwyer, Deane Lester and Sky Racing’s Lizzie Jelfs, who will be trackside at Rosehill Gardens.

In the Golden Rose, Anamoe looms as the horse to beat after his fast-finishing win in The Run To The Rose two weeks ago. However, the star Godolphin colt will have to overcome a strong field that includes Blue Diamond winner Artorius and Run To The Rose placegetters In The Congo and Remarque.

Rising star Zaaki is expected to start favourite in the Underwood Stakes at Ladbrokes Park after dominant wins in his past four starts including this month’s Group 2 Tramway Stakes. But Feehan Stakes winner Superstorm and star Kiwi mare Probabeel are class acts and will be determined to break the Annabel Neasham-trained gelding’s winning streak.

The other highlights at Ladbrokes Park on Saturday include the Group 3 Sandown Stakes (1500m), along with the Listed Testa Rossa Stakes (1300m) and Jim Moloney Stakes (1400m).

From Rosehill Gardens, the live and free action also features the Group 2 Golden Pendant (1400m) and Shannon Stakes (1500m), the Group 3 Colin Stephen Quality (2400m) and Gloaming Stakes (1800m), and the Listed Heritage Stakes (1100m).

Over the coming months, Seven will bring fans Spring Racing’s finest thoroughbred action from around Australia, including the Caulfield Cup, Everest, Cox Plate and Golden Eagle.
