One of BritBox’s most requested sci-fi series arrives due to popular demand

This Emmy winning sitcom meets sci-fi takes place aboard Red Dwarf, an enormous mining spaceship with hundreds of crew members. The series opens with a deadly radiation leak that kills everyone on board but one, a chicken-soup-machine repairman named Dave Lister. Follow Lister’s life of solitude as he finds comfort through a hologram of his deceased bunkmate and a cat that has evolved into a humanoid form.

Starring Craig Charles (Coronation Street), Danny John-Jules (Death in Paradise) and Chris Barrie (The Brittas Empire).

A cult British sci-fi to add to BritBox’s extensive David Tennant collection

An adaptation of the 1950s cult classic of the same name, this was the BBC’s first live made-for-television drama broadcast in more than twenty years. This futuristic take on space exploration follows Professor Bernard Quatermass as he and his crew travel through the universe. However, when they return from their journey they discover one of the crew has been overtaken by an evil alien that wants to destroy Earth.

Starring David Tennant (Doctor Who), Adrian Dunbar (Line of Duty) and Jason Flemyng (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels).

‘THE SECRET’ SEASON 1 – NEW TO BRITBOX

Based on a true crime story of two adulterous lovers turned murderers

Located in Northern Ireland, dentist Colin Howell, played by James Nesbitt (Bloodlands, The Missing, Cold Feet) meets Sunday school teacher Hazel Buchanan, played by Genevieve O’Reilly (Star Wars, Overwatch, Spooks). Despite being seen as pillars of their community and happily married to other people, they instantly fall in love and embark on a passionate affair that leads them to an elaborate plot to kill both their spouses. Based on a true story, this four-part series unravels the consequences and brings justice to the victims.

Created by BAFTA-winning writer Stuart Urban (Revelation) and directed by Nick Murphy (The Awakening). The drama was BAFTA nominated as Best Drama Miniseries and won the Royal Television Society award for Best Drama.
