He was once one of the networks biggest stars, but last night Celebrity chef George Calombaris returned to television last night dressed as a duster on The Masked Singer Australia.

In Tuesday nights episode, disguised beneath a magnificent disco duster costume, the renowned restaurateur proved he is as skillful on the stage, as he is in the kitchen.

George took to the stage with his take on the Ray Charles classic Shake Your Tail Feather, but it was no match to Baby’s rocking rendition of George Thorogood & The Destroyers’ Bad to the Bone.

The dust had barely settled before guessing panel Dannii Minogue, Dave Hughes, Jackie O and Urzila Carlson were tasked with guessing who was behind Duster’s mask.

Our awesome foursome were convinced he was a sportsman, speculating Michael Clarke, Shane Warne, Tim Cahill and Sachin Tendulkar. Rethinking the few chef hints within the clues package, Jackie O changed her guess to Gordan Ramsay at the last minute.

When the Duster finally removed his head, our hosts and panellists couldn’t wipe the shock off their faces.

On why he chose to take part in The Masked Singer Australia, George said:

“I can’t believe I have just done this. This is so insane. 11 years of Masterchef Australia is pretty easy compared to this. I am sure my kids James and Michaela are at home right now going absolutely ballistic. And that was probably the main reason why I have done this.”

With performances to analyse and fresh clues up on the board, are you any closer to guessing who’s behind Kebab, Lightning, Baby, Atlantis and Piñata?

The Masked Singer Australia – continues Sunday at 7.30pm, only on 10 and 10 Play on demand.
