Hospital hunk Dr Max Goodwin is set to return this month for a new season of the hit medical drama, New Amsterdam and this time it will premiere on Stan.

Season 4 of New Amsterdam is set to be fast-tracked to the Nine owned subscription streaming service Stan later this month. Nine has previously used the popular series to promote its free, ad-supported streaming platform 9Now.

TV Blackbox understands season 4 of New Amsterdam will still become available on 9Now at a later date.

In New Amsterdam, Dr. Max Goodwin, a brilliant doctor, is appointed as the new medical director at America’s oldest public hospital. He sets out to break the rules and tear up the bureaucracy, in a story inspired by Bellevue Hospital in New York City.

Season 4 picks up from the season 3 finale, with a burgeoning relationship between Max and Dr Helen Sharpe – which fans have been hoping for – seemingly on the horizon. It remains to be seen however, if things will be as easy as they seem.

New Amsterdam Season 4 premieres September 22, with new episodes weekly the same day as the US, only on Stan.
