While finals football is in the air, it’s not proving competitive on FTA – Thursdays are proving to be slow business all round.
Nine deliver their best in A Current Affair (734,000), which softens for the week. then we split based on the footy…in BNE/SYD you got: Thursday Night NRL Live (362,000) and Thursday Night Knock-Off (146,000); meanwhile in MEL/ADL/PER it was: RBT (198,000), Australian Crime Stories (164,000), and Reported Missing (98,000).
Nine first in primary (19%) and second in network (25.7%) rankings.
Seven see Home and Away (591,000; 502,000 late) slip a little with their now traditional Thursday night triple ep, and then in BNE/SYD you got a repeat MOVIE: New Year’s Eve (80,000), coupled with a late repeat of The Front Bar (395,000), which ran much earlier in MEL/ADL/PER where it was paired with a repeat of Billy Connolly: Made In Scotland (101,000). The Paralympics doing strong business in primetime on 7mate.
Seven second in primary (18.8%) and first in network (31.3%) rankings.
10 sees The Project (283,000 6:30pm; 485,000 7pm) fall a little – strange given it was the lead in to the finale of The Bachelor Australia (604,000 avg (578,000 finale; 629;000 decision)) which handed the network the best numbers of it’s ninth and lowest-rating season to date. A double repeat of Law & Order: SVU (219,000; 156,000) and new Blue Bloods (110,000) closed out a smaller night that should have been much bigger than it was.
10 third in both primary (13.3%) and network (19.6%) rankings.
The 7:30 (544,000) and Foreign Correspondent (404,000) double starts the night as the ABC’s best. Q+A (258,000) slides up a little on last week, though still not great numbers, while Fake or Fortune? (177,000) completes the schedule.
ABC fourth in both primary (10.7%) and network (14.8%) rankings.
SBS’s night started with a repeat of Great Asian Railway Journeys (209,000), then a new ep of Incredible Journeys with Simon Reeve (140,000), and the season five finale of The Good Fight (46,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (4.3%) and network (8.6%) rankings.
