As the Spring Carnival gets underway, many are setting their sights on the World’s Richest Race on Turf, The Everest 2021.
In the new season of Racing Dreams: The Everest premiering Saturdays from September 4 at 9am AEST on Sky News, viewers will get an access-all-areas pass to see what it takes to win a race of this calibre.
Each week, Tim Gilbert and Julie Snook will take viewers into the stables and onto the track interviewing trainers, jockeys, owners and industry experts delivering the insights into the hard work, perseverance and determination that goes into preparing a thoroughbred for The Everest.
This year’s race event will look completely different without the crowds cheering the runners on, however with exceptional coverage of the build up to the big day at Royal Randwick on October 16, Racing Dreams: The Everest will prepare viewers and punters for the anticipation of who will ride away with the $15 million – to be won or lost in just over a minute.
In the first episode of the season, 2020 Everest winner Classique Legend is back on home soil. Tim catches up with trainer Les Bridge to find out if the champion grey is fighting fit and ready to claim back-to-back titles.
Sydney’s reigning premier jockey, James McDonald sits down with Julie to preview his Spring Carnival campaign, first up this weekend with Nature Strip for the Concorde Stakes at Royal Randwick, and she asks if he’ll be teaming up with the gelding again for a crack at this year’s The Everest.
Also in episode one, the Daily Telegraph’s racing expert, Ray Thomas will preview the upcoming Spring Carnival; and on the eve of Father’s Day, John Messara reveals the amazing line up of this year’s stallions on offer at Arrowfield.
Plus, regular PointsBet contributor Brett “Finchy” Finch, will give an update on the latest markets and we welcome a new face to the fold from Racing NSW for all your tips trackside.
