Chemistry is everything in the breakfast TV battle, but which team do you like best?

Nat and Kochie, Karl and Ally, Michael and Lisa… they’re the teams we wake up to in the morning to get our first dose of news, sport, entertainment and weather.

And when you have the right team it can lead to ratings gold… get it wrong and viewers will run for the hills.

Don’t believe me?

Look at what happened when Karl Stefanovic was paired with Georgie Gardner. Both are top talents in their own right, but as a team they simply didn’t work and ratings declined dramatically.

Now Karl has been paired with Allison Langdon – a top journo with runs on the board and someone who bounces off Karl with ease.

And viewers are coming back.

TODAY has seen some of its best results in years and a lot of that can be put down to the seamless chemistry between Karl and Ally.

The team at Sunrise understand the importance of chemistry. Executive Producer Michael Pell has successfully transitioned from Mel Doyle to Sam Armytage to Nat Barr, while maintaining ratings dominance.

Meanwhile, ABC’s News Breakfast has continued to provide an alternative to its commercial rivals with Michael Rowland and Lisa Millar. Millar took over from original host Virginia Trioli in 2019 in a seamless transition thanks to the support of Trioli.

Of course, ratings isn’t just about the chemistry between the main hosts. Which breakfast show a viewer chooses comes down to a multitude of factors, so ratings can’t deliver the verdict on which team has the best chemistry.

That’s where you come in.

We want to know which team you think has the best chemistry. Which team is the best?

Voting is now open and closes at 11.59pm AEST on Friday.

We’ll bring you the results next week.
