JEREMY FERNANDEZ to host Media Watch after PAUL BARRY Bike crash

The ABC has confirmed weekend newsreader Jeremy Fernandez will host tonight’s edition of Media Watch.

Fernandez is taking on the role after regular host Paul Barry was involved in a collision over the weekend.

Barry was knocked off his bicycle by a reversing car on Friday leaving him with a broken pelvis and a broken hand. The presenter spent one night in hospital and is now recuperating at home.

Barry is likely to be missing from Media Watch for the next month, at this stage Fernandez is only locked in to host the program for one week, with producers leaving the door open to experiment with other hosts.
