The two-time Logie winner was found dead at a home in Glenhaven, in Sydney’s north-west, on Saturday afternoon
TV Blackbox heard the sad news this afternoon but have been waiting on a statement from the family of the late actor for confirmation. In the meantime, The Daily Mail has confirmed Dieter’s death with NSW police.
The news first broke on FaceBook via a friend of the actor who posted the news.
The family have now issued a statement, saying:
“On behalf of my family, I post this today with a heavy heart. We lost our handsome, talented, funny, complicated and beloved Dieter on Saturday morning. He has left a massive hole in our lives and our World will never be the same.
Our thoughts go out to all of you who knew him, loved him, or worked with him over the years.
We appreciate you respecting our privacy at this terrible time”.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
Dieter played Shane Parrish in Seven’s Home & Away from 1992 until 1996. He starred alongside Melissa George, but claimed the couple had no chemistry off the screen.
Despite a few roles after his departure from Home & Away, Dieter turned his back on the spotlight and started his own window cleaning business.
