13 million of us in lockdown means we’re all looking for something to watch.
A triple ep of Home and Away (657,000; 595,000 “late”) starts it up for Seven as it hits the cliffhanger for a 2 week break, followed by a special Olympic edition of The Front Bar (480,000) which won the later primetime slot. A repeat of MOVIE: Step Brothers (119,000) was a placeholder while the Olympics kicked off for our soccer players on 7mate which was an absolute boon for the Big Red Trainâ„¢.
Seven first in both primary (20.3%) and network (34.4%) rankings.
A Current Affair (739,000) starts Nine’s night strong, however it then fragmented for the worse depending of if you watch the NRL or not. It ended up like this: Thursday Night NRL Live (329,000) and Thursday Night Knock-Off (140,000); or RBT (224,000), a repeat of Paramedics (143,000), and King’s Cross ER (112,000).
Nine second in both primary (17.9%) and network (25.3%) rankings.
7:30 (656,000) and Foreign Correspondent (446,000) start the ABC’s night pretty well, and Q+A (321,000) continues its run above 300k (without acknowledgement of Hamish Macdonald’s exit as host). A repeat of Joanna Lumley’s Hidden Caribbean (192,000) completes the ABC’s night.
ABC third in primary (11.1%) and fourth in network (15.6%) rankings.
10’s night starts reasonably well with The Project (335,000 6:30pm; 530,000 7pm), followed by The Bachelor Australia (502,000) that lifts (but only marginally and that’s still a real concern). The documentary nobody asked for Diana’s Decades (191,000) barely draws an audience better than the NCIS repeat on 10 Bold, and a repeat of Law & Order: SVU (115,000) filled a hole.
10 fourth in primary (10.5%) and third in network (17.3%) rankings.
SBS’s Thursday started with repeats of Great Asian Railway Journeys (232,000) and Titanic: The New Evidence (155,000). A new episode of The Good Fight (63,000) struggled as the show was moved back into the 9:30pm timeslot.
SBS fifth in both primary (4.3%) and network (7.4%) rankings.
