One of the features of the Major League Baseball season returns after a two-year absence, with the 2021 MLB All-Star Game live on ESPN Australia New Zealand.

The MLB All-Star action begins on Wednesday July 14 at 10.00am AEST on ESPN2, as the best in the American League tackle the best in the National League for the ‘Mid-Summer Classic’.

With no All-Star game taking place last season, the best in baseball are certainly making up for the missed time.

Both the National and American league lineups are stacked with star power for the showdown at Coors Field in Denver.

Leading the charge is Shohei Ohtani, who creates history, becoming the first player selected as both a hitter and pitcher in an All-Star game.

Ohtani leads Major League Baseball in home runs, and his ability at the pitching mound is elite.

This skillset has prompted the MLB to change the designated hitter rule for the All-Star matchup, to ensure Ohtani can display both skillsets against the National League.

Ohtani will be joined by the New York Yankees Aaron Judge in an explosive batting lineup.

The Japanese enigma leads the American League charge in the All-Star game, but the National League also have their own highlight men.

The National League come to Denver with stars of their own, after Fernando Tatis Jr and Ronald Acuna topped the fan voting.

Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer will look to take down the American League batting stars, as the starter in the All-Star game.

The winner of the Major League Baseball game receives home field advantage for their division in the World Series, so stakes are high.

The American League took out the All-Star game last time out and the National League hope to halt their All-Star losing streak.
