The Olympics will mark a changing of the guard for Australia’s most popular game show
Channel 7 is nearing the end of its run of The Chase Australia episodes featuring Andrew O’Keefe as host. While it has been known for some time that Seven is planning to launch replacement host Larry Emdur around the Olympics, we now have confirmation of a transition date.
The final new episode of The Chase Australia with original host Andrew O’Keefe will air Tuesday 20th July at 5pm on Channel 7. Repeats are scheduled for the next three additional nights with the final ever episode airing Friday 23rd July.
O’Keefe and Seven parted ways with little warning due to ongoing mental health issues with the popular presenter, hence there will not be a farewell episode. Police charges against AOK were recently dismissed under the Mental Health Act.
Soon after O’Keefe’s departure the network announced he would be replaced by Larry Emdur.
939 episodes were made featuring AOK and the show often outranks programs in prime time. The Chase Australia has not suffered any viewership loss despite the headlines surrounding O’Keefe.
TV Blackbox can confirm every episode filmed will air by 20 July with repeats taking the AOK series to the end of that week, allowing a clean transition to Larry Emdur.
