It’s a night of two halves (as usual)…once the 7:30pm reality smash hits fade, there’s much less interest in hanging around.

What turned out to be a massive night for Nine. A Current Affair (790,000) dropped slightly on Monday’s numbers, though that didn’t stop Australian Ninja Warrior (815,000 finale; 918,000 winner announced (average 867,000)) drawing big 2021 numbers to round out its season. Down on last year, sure, though still solid. The Weakest Link (369,000) got a bump from the finale too, seeing it deliver its second biggest numbers all run. A “timely” repeat of Kath & Kim Kountdown: Glitz & Glama (122,000) was still a thing, apparently.
Nine first in both primary (22.8%) and network (30.9%) rankings.

Seven soldiered on with a solid second in all the earlier slots: Home and Away (650,000) up marginally on Monday, and Farmer Wants A Wife (684,000) down marginally on the same. A double new episode of US drama The Rookie (277,000; 209,000) kept a reasonable late night audience.
Seven second in both primary (19%) and network (28.1%) rankings.

10 offered more of The Project (294,000 6:30pm; 445,000 7pm) continuing its weekly trend, and MasterChef Australia (609,000) down slightly both on last night and same time last week. Then it’s into a double repeat eps of NCIS (220,000; 171,000), because some people just need their double dose of Mark Harmon.
10 third in both primary (10.6%) and network (17.5%) rankings.

The ABC are out of the block with a reasonable 7:30 (569,000) which again is down on the Monday blockbuster because its missing the big interview. Anh’s Brush With Fame (524,000) up a little for Peter Garrett, and then the criminally ignored Firestarter: The Story of Bangarra (235,000) gets numbers well below its value–absolutely worth catching on iview. Repeats of You Can’t Ask That (141,000) and China Tonight (80,000) complete the night.
ABC fourth in both primary (10%) and network (14%) rankings.

SBS deliver some quality Uncle Jack Charles on Who Do You Think You Are? Australia (276,000), and it’s everyone clear the couch for Tour de France live (stage 10) (172,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (6.6%) and network (9.5%) rankings.
