A tantalising UEFA EURO 2020 Quarter-final line-up has been confirmed, after a Round of 16 delivered more than its fair share of drama and entertainment early this week.

The standout clash of the round sees Belgium, ranked number one in the FIFA World Rankings, up against the tournament’s in-form team, Italy, in a true heavyweight clash.

Meanwhile, one of the tournament’s surprise packages in Denmark and Czech Republic will progress to the semi-finals after they do battle in Baku on Sunday morning. The other big matches see England take on Ukraine and Switzerland take on Spain.

Broadcast live and exclusive on Optus Sport, Aussie football fans can catch all the quarter-final action across the weekend with both Saturday and Sunday mornings delivering two games apiece.

Optus Sport Expert Michael Bridges, a former England youth international and Premier League player, said,

“It’s been an unbelievable tournament so far – we’ve seen drama, great goals and upsets, we’ve seen everything you want to see.

“The morning that saw Switzerland and Spain advance will likely go down as the most thrilling day in Euros history, we were grateful to play our part in allowing that unmissable action into people’s homes.

“Now we’re really down to the business end of the competition. We will of course be expecting the big name stars, like Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane to really come to the party, but there’s always room for an unlikely hero to emerge.

“The Danish team particularly has thrived on a wave of emotions and goodwill and what a story it would be if they could even come close to matching their 1992 heroics.

“Optus Sport will proudly broadcast the four blockbuster quarter-finals matches this weekend as part of our live and exclusive coverage of every minute of UEFA EURO 2020, so make sure you join me and the team as we’re having a great deal of fun bringing the world’s very best football to you wherever you watch Optus Sport.”

  • Sunday 04 July, 4.30am – England vs. Ukraine

Meanwhile, the Copa America 2021 has also reached the quarter-final stage, with Brazil’s tournament form making them clear favourites to go all the way and defend the trophy they won in 2019.

Copa America 2021 Quarter-final fixtures are as follows:

  • Saturday 03 July, 7am – Peru vs. Paraguay
  • Saturday 03 July, 10am – Brazil vs. Chile
  • Sunday 04 July, 8am –  Uruguay vs. Colombia

“As we reach the Quarter-final stages of the UEFA EURO 2020 and the Copa America, it’s pleasing to see that more and more Aussies are continuing to engage with both tournaments in their droves,”

Optus’ Head of TV and Content, Corin Dimopoulos, said.

“The quality and drama on the pitch has certainly meant that people are either adjusting their sleep patterns, or finding the time to catch up with our highlights packages, as we’re still experiencing our highest ever numbers on Optus Sport.”
