He famously watches some shows in five minute grabs…TV Blackbox Editor Rob weighs in with his lockdown top picks!

(We’d also love to know your recommendations too – please share them in the comments below.)

Thanks Molk. Yes, while it’s true I tend to watch shows like The Big Bang Theory and The Good Place on high rotation and in 5-15 blocks when I’m busy, I do also sometimes get time to sit down and watch longer-form shows (and I actually sit through them).

Ragnarok – Netflix

I somehow came across this Norwegian drama while scrolling through Netflix and fell in love.

This is a modern-day telling of Norse mythology as a teen boy discovers he is the reincarnation of the God of Thunder – Thor.

But this is not The Avengers. This is a teen drama mixed with superhero origin story done much better than predecessors like Smallville.

Season two was recently released which I am hoping to start watching this week.

WARNING – the show is dubbed into English and while the voice acting isn’t great at times it’s still enjoyable.

Superman & Lois – Binge

This is the Superman show I long for!

Without wanting to throw more hate towards Smallville, this series treats the audience with respect and moves forward quickly in a way it’s predecessor didn’t.

Clark and Lois have two kids and life is not going smoothly for most of the family. When Lois quits her job at The Daily Planet (which is a shadow of its former self) and Clark’s mum dies, the family decide to move to Smallville for a fresh start.

There’s a lot of depth to this show and a few unexpected twists. If you are a fan of the caped crusader, this is the show for you.

American Gods – Prime Video

This is one of those shows that should be on your binging list!

It’s another show that deals with mythology (I’ve always considered myself an atheist – but maybe I’m not??????). In this series the Gods live among us and it’s a case of the old versus the new.

War is brewing and each season brings us closer to the final showdown.

It’s fantastic!

Bottom – BRITBOX

Fancy some sophisticated classic British comedy? Well, this isn’t that show!

Adrian Edmondson and Rik Mayall take their Young Ones humour to a whole new level as fart jokes and smashing things over peoples heads is played for laughs.

This is bottom-of-the-gutter stuff with single entendres but you’re bound to have a laugh along the way.

If you’re looking for something different, this is it!

If you’re looking for the same-old-same-old, this is not the show you’re looking for.
